Stone Shovel accepts Efficiency, Unbreaking, Mending, and Silk Touch, and Fortune on a shovel raises the flint drop rate from gravel. Stone Shovel works identically in Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, making it the standard mid-tier choice for clearing large dirt and sand areas before iron tools are available.

Mine stone with any pickaxe to get cobblestone, then craft sticks by placing two planks in a vertical column. You need one cobblestone and two sticks for a Stone Shovel.
