Description

The Stone Hoe is a tier-2 farming tool in Minecraft, crafted from 2 cobblestone and 2 sticks. Hold the hoe and right-click dirt, grass blocks, dirt paths, coarse dirt, or rooted dirt to till them into farmland, where you plant wheat, carrots, potatoes, and beetroot. The Stone Hoe has 131 durability — more than double the Wooden Hoe's 59 uses — making it the cheapest reliable upgrade for early-game farms. Beyond tilling, a hoe breaks hay bales, dried kelp blocks, target blocks, sponges, moss blocks, nether wart blocks, shroomlights, and leaves faster than any other tool. Tilling coarse dirt with the Stone Hoe converts it back into regular dirt, handy when clearing terrain. You can enchant it with Efficiency, Unbreaking, Fortune, and Mending at an enchanting table, and repair it by combining two hoes or adding cobblestone in an anvil. As a weapon the Stone Hoe is weak, so it is built for farming rather than combat. Java and Bedrock Edition share the same recipe and durability.
