Description
Snow Block is crafted from four snowballs arranged in a 2×2 grid on the crafting grid — snowballs themselves drop when shovelling layered snow or breaking thin snow layers in tundra biomes. The texture is a clean uniform white, the brightest snow-coloured option in vanilla, and the block fits seamlessly into igloo walls, frost giants' lairs, and arctic-themed builds.
A shovel is the fastest mining tool — and unlike many natural blocks, mining without Silk Touch yields four snowballs back, allowing safe relocation by re-crafting at the destination. With Silk Touch the original block returns intact. Two snow blocks stacked vertically with a pumpkin or carved pumpkin on top spawns a snow golem — a passive mob that throws snowballs at hostile mobs and leaves a trail of layered snow as it walks. The block also generates naturally on tall snowy mountain peaks above the snow line.
