Description

Smooth Quartz Block is created by smelting a block of quartz, trading the standard border texture for a cleaner face. It is one of the best white materials for modern houses, labs, bathrooms, futuristic corridors, gallery walls, and bright Nether-inspired interiors. The surface stays calmer than quartz bricks or pillars, so it works well as a panel or floor.\n\nThe block also connects to smooth quartz stairs and slabs, letting builders keep the same refined style across edges, steps, counters, and ceiling trim. Large amounts require both Nether quartz and furnace time, so planned smelting lines help. Its brightness pairs strongly with glass, sea lanterns, copper, blackstone, and dark prismarine.

How to Get and Use Smooth Quartz Block in Minecraft

    Travel to the Nether and mine Nether Quartz Ore with any pickaxe. Each ore block drops 2–5 Nether Quartz pieces and awards experience points.

    Arrange four Nether Quartz pieces in a 2x2 crafting grid to produce one Block of Quartz. This recipe works in your inventory grid and on a crafting table.

    Smelt in a Furnace

    Place a Block of Quartz in the top slot of a furnace with any fuel below. One Block of Quartz smelts into one Smooth Quartz Block at a 1:1 ratio. A Blast Furnace does not work here — it only smelts ores, raw metals, and metal items.

    Build with Stairs and Slabs

    Combine Smooth Quartz Blocks with Smooth Quartz Stairs and Smooth Quartz Slabs to create detailed edges, countertops, and window trim while keeping the seamless white aesthetic across your entire build.

Note

Smooth Quartz Block cannot be crafted directly at a crafting table — it requires furnace smelting. Nether Quartz Ore does not regenerate, so plan your mining trips before starting large builds.
