Sculk Vein
Sculk Vein is a thin, non-solid overlay that coats walls and floors in the Deep Dark, mined only with Silk Touch (the enchantment that lets a block drop itself).
Description
Sculk Vein drops nothing and grants no experience when broken normally; only a Silk Touch tool lets Sculk Vein drop itself for reuse. Unlike the sculk block, Sculk Vein does not spread sculk on its own and triggers no redstone, making Sculk Vein a purely cosmetic accent. Builders use Sculk Vein to add a creeping, corrupted texture over deepslate, stone, and dark builds, framing Sculk Sensors or layering an alien organic look across haunted ruins and Deep Dark recreations.

How to get and use Sculk Vein in Minecraft
-
1
Reach the Deep Dark
Dig below Y=0 and explore deepslate caves until you find the Deep Dark biome, where Sculk Vein coats the floors and walls.
-
2
Bring a Silk Touch tool
Enchant a hoe or pickaxe with Silk Touch so Sculk Vein drops as an item instead of disappearing.
-
3
Mine the vein
Break Sculk Vein with the Silk Touch tool; a hoe clears it fastest because Sculk Vein has only 0.2 hardness.
-
4
Place it on any face
Aim at a wall, floor, or ceiling and place Sculk Vein like Glow Lichen to build a creeping, corrupted overlay.
Without Silk Touch, Sculk Vein drops nothing and gives no experience, so enchant your tool before mining it.
