Red Terracotta is the red-dyed form of terracotta, crafted by placing one red dye in the center of a crafting grid and terracotta blocks in the eight surrounding squares, a recipe that outputs eight blocks at once. Natural Red Terracotta waits in layered bands above Y≈74 in badlands biomes and in some savanna-village houses, so a pickaxe is the only tool needed for a first stack. Any pickaxe tier works — wooden included — while Red Terracotta broken bare-handed drops nothing.

As a building material, Red Terracotta pairs a hardness of 1.25 with a blast resistance of 4.2, stacks to 64, and never catches fire from lava or open flames — a combination that suits fireplaces and lava features. A furnace smelts Red Terracotta into Red Glazed Terracotta, granting 0.1 experience per block.
