Description

Prismarine is crafted from four prismarine shards arranged in a 2×2 square on the crafting grid, producing one block per recipe. Both shards and crystals — the secondary material for sea lanterns — drop from guardians and elder guardians inside ocean monuments, which means real-world fishing for this material requires confronting the dimension's most heavily-armoured aquatic mobs.

The texture is unique: a base teal that visually shifts through pale aqua, deep marine, and almost-violet hues as the player moves around it, an animated shimmer that no other vanilla block produces. This makes prismarine ideal for Atlantis-style builds, ocean monuments, conduit chambers, and any underwater base. Three direct decorative variants exist: bricks (four shards arranged differently), a dark version (eight shards plus an ink sac), and the matching slabs, stairs, and walls available for all three at a stonecutter. The block functions identically underwater and above.
