Description

Music Disc — Relic is a collectible music disc added to Minecraft in Java Edition 1.20 and Bedrock Edition 1.20 as part of the Trails & Tales update, composed by Aaron Cherof. Music Disc — Relic cannot be crafted and is found in no chest: the only way to obtain Music Disc — Relic is by brushing suspicious gravel inside trail ruins, where it appears as rare loot with roughly an 8.3% chance per excavated block. This makes Relic the first and only music disc in Minecraft tied directly to the archaeology system.

Place Music Disc — Relic in a jukebox and right-click to play its 3-minute-39-second ambient track, with the green title text shown above the block. A jukebox playing Music Disc — Relic outputs a redstone signal of strength 14 through an adjacent comparator, letting builders detect when the disc is spinning. Music Disc — Relic stacks to one, is immune to fire and lava as an item, and looks great in a display next to other archaeology finds such as decorated pots and the sniffer egg.

How to get Music Disc — Relic in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Locate trail ruins

Explore taiga, snowy taiga, old-growth taiga, jungle, and forest biomes, then dig down to find the buried trail ruins structure.

  2. 2

    Find suspicious gravel

Inside the trail ruins, look for suspicious gravel blocks; their texture differs slightly from normal gravel and they are scattered across the buried floors.

  3. 3

    Brush the gravel

Equip a Brush and hold right-click on each suspicious gravel block until the hidden item pops out; do not mine the block with a pickaxe or the loot is lost.

  4. 4

    Collect and play Relic

Pick up Music Disc — Relic when it drops, place a jukebox, and right-click with the disc to start the Aaron Cherof track.

Brushing tip

Suspicious gravel is fragile — mining it with any tool destroys the hidden loot. Always use a Brush and stand still while brushing so the progress bar is not interrupted.
