Description

Mangrove Boat with Chest is a boat whose passenger seat is replaced by a single chest: one Mangrove Boat and one Chest placed together on the crafting grid produce this cargo vehicle in a shapeless recipe (the ingredients go anywhere on the grid). Boats with chests joined Minecraft in Java Edition 1.19 and Bedrock Edition 1.19.0, and the mangrove variant became obtainable once mangrove trees and mangrove swamps arrived. Mangrove Boat with Chest is not stackable, does not burn, and counts as a renewable resource (a supply that never runs out).
The built-in chest of Mangrove Boat with Chest holds as many slots as a single chest and opens when the player sneaks and interacts with the boat or from the rider's inventory screen. Mangrove Boat with Chest carries only one entity, because the chest occupies the seat a second rider would take, while regular boats carry up to two. Rowing above, underneath, or beside a Hopper fills or drains the cargo, and the wide hitbox lets one boat sit over up to nine Hoppers, splitting the load nine ways. In a furnace Mangrove Boat with Chest burns for 60 seconds and smelts up to 6 items.
