Magenta Shulker Box is the magenta-dyed form of the Shulker Box, a storage block that keeps its contents inside the dropped item when broken. A plain Shulker Box is crafted from two Shulker Shells and one Chest stacked in a vertical crafting column, and combining that box with one Magenta Dye yields the Magenta Shulker Box without emptying the stored items. Magenta Shulker Box offers 27 inventory slots, the same capacity as a single Chest, a Barrel, or an Ender Chest. Hardness and blast resistance (how well the block withstands explosions) both equal 2, so a Diamond Pickaxe breaks the Magenta Shulker Box in 0.4 seconds, and even a bare hand drops the box in 3 seconds because any tool works.
A Hopper can load or empty a placed Magenta Shulker Box, and the mined box carries every stored stack to a new base in a single inventory slot. A Piston cannot pull the Magenta Shulker Box, and a piston push simply pops the block off as an item with the contents safe inside; destroying that loose item, though, spills all stored items onto the ground. A Cauldron filled with water removes the magenta dye and returns a plain Shulker Box at the cost of one water level. Magenta Shulker Box has existed since Java Edition 1.11 and Bedrock Edition 1.1.0, and every shulker box became renewable (an endlessly farmable resource) in Java Edition 1.17.
