Magenta Carpet covers any floor with a thin magenta wool layer, crafted from two magenta wool, and stops mobs from spawning on the covered spot.
Description
Magenta Carpet works as a floor finish, a spawn-proofing layer, and a llama decoration. A hitbox 1/16 of a block tall keeps mobs from spawning on the block Magenta Carpet covers, and a carpet on a fence or a wall lets players hop up while mobs refuse to cross. A llama can wear Magenta Carpet in the llama carpet slot, and every carpet color shows a different rug pattern on the llama's back. Magenta Carpet also dampens vibrations: placing, breaking, or stepping on the carpet never alerts a nearby sculk sensor. A hopper underneath Magenta Carpet keeps collecting items straight through the carpet. In a Java Edition furnace, one Magenta Carpet smelts 0.335 items.

No. Unlike wool, Magenta Carpet gains nothing from shears: the carpet breaks with any tool or a bare hand, and hardness is 0.1.
Does Magenta Carpet burn?
Yes. Magenta Carpet is flammable — fire burns the carpet away with flammability 60 in Java Edition and 30 in Bedrock Edition, and lava destroys the carpet as well.
Do double carpets still stop mobs?
No. In Java Edition a mob walking onto two stacked carpets spins in place, cancels the pathfinding, and later steps off and moves on. Endermen, however, cannot teleport onto a double carpet layer.
