One Light Blue Dye in the center of a crafting grid, surrounded by eight Glass blocks, yields eight Light Blue Stained Glass blocks. Crafting is the only source: light blue never generates naturally in the world, unlike magenta, brown, or white stained glass. A Silk Touch tool (an enchantment that makes fragile blocks drop themselves) is required to recover a placed block, because Light Blue Stained Glass broken any other way drops nothing. Stained glass has no assigned tool, so an empty hand breaks Light Blue Stained Glass exactly as fast as any tool, and the block pairs 0.3 hardness with 0.3 blast resistance.

Light Blue Stained Glass is transparent like plain Glass and gives builders a full-size window block in sky blue. Mobs treat stained glass as completely opaque and cannot see through Light Blue Stained Glass, so tinted windows keep interiors hidden from mob detection. A single Light Blue Stained Glass placed anywhere above a beacon turns the beacon beam light blue, and every additional stained glass block blends another color into the beam.
