Glistering Melon Slice is a brewing-only ingredient in Minecraft used to craft Potion of Healing. Players craft Glistering Melon Slice by placing 1 Melon Slice in the center of a crafting table and surrounding it with 8 Gold Nuggets, producing a single sparkling slice per recipe. In a Brewing Stand, Awkward Potion plus Glistering Melon Slice yields a Potion of Healing that restores 2 hearts (4 health points) instantly, with a Tier II upgrade via Glowstone Dust restoring 4 hearts (8 health points). Unlike regular Melon Slices, Glistering Melon Slice is not edible and exists purely as an alchemical reagent. In Java Edition 1.13 the item was renamed from Glistering Melon to Glistering Melon Slice for clarity, aligning the name with the underlying Melon Slice. Players typically farm Melons on seeded melon farms and gather Gold Nuggets from Zombified Piglin drops or by mining Nether Gold Ore (2–6 nuggets per block), ensuring a renewable potion-supply chain.
