Fermented Spider Eye
Fermented Spider Eye is the corrupting brewing ingredient that flips potions into their negative versions — Weakness, Harming, Slowness, and Invisibility.
Description
Fermented Spider Eye is the only "corrupting" reagent in the brewing stand: adding Fermented Spider Eye to a Water Bottle brews a Potion of Weakness, while adding it to a finished potion inverts the effect. Fermented Spider Eye turns a Potion of Night Vision into Invisibility, a Potion of Swiftness or Leaping into Slowness, and a Potion of Healing or Poison into Harming. Because Fermented Spider Eye is the only path to Weakness, Slowness, Harming, and Invisibility, brewers keep a stack ready before curing zombie villagers, which require a Splash Potion of Weakness.

How to craft and use a Fermented Spider Eye in Minecraft
-
1
Gather the three ingredients
Collect one Spider Eye (dropped by spiders, cave spiders, and witches), one Sugar (from sugar cane), and one Brown Mushroom (found in dark caves, swamps, and Mushroom Fields).
-
2
Combine them on the crafting grid
Place the Spider Eye, Sugar, and Brown Mushroom in any cells of the 3x3 grid — the recipe is shapeless and produces one Fermented Spider Eye.
-
3
Brew a corrupting potion
Fuel a Brewing Stand with Blaze Powder, set a Water Bottle or a finished potion in a bottom slot, and place the Fermented Spider Eye in the top ingredient slot.
-
4
Choose the inverted effect
A Water Bottle yields Weakness; Night Vision becomes Invisibility; Swiftness or Leaping becomes Slowness; Healing or Poison becomes Harming.
A Splash Potion of Weakness plus a Golden Apple is required to cure a zombie villager, so Fermented Spider Eye is essential for building a trading hall.
