Dragon Egg
Dragon Egg is the unique trophy that appears after defeating the Ender Dragon — purely decorative but a famous milestone.
Description
Mining the egg with any tool teleports it to a random nearby location instead of breaking it, the same behaviour as natural Endermen movement. The accepted method to collect it requires a torch trick: place the torch directly under the egg, then mine the block beneath, causing the egg to fall onto the torch which breaks the gravity rule and drops it as a normal item. Once collected, the block has no functional purpose — but most players display it on a pedestal in their main base as proof of completing the dragon fight. Only a Silk Touch piston can also relocate it.

How to collect the Dragon Egg in Minecraft
-
1
Defeat the Ender Dragon
Kill the Ender Dragon for the first time. The Dragon Egg then spawns on top of the central exit portal pillar in The End.
-
2
Do not click it directly
Mining or right-clicking the egg teleports it up to 15 blocks away to a random nearby block, so never break it with a tool.
-
3
Set the torch trick
Dig a two-block-deep hole next to the egg, place a torch at the bottom, then mine the support block so the egg falls onto the torch.
-
4
Pick up the item
The torch breaks the falling egg's gravity, popping it out as a normal item drop you can collect and place anywhere.
Only one Dragon Egg exists per world. Respawning the dragon with End Crystals does not produce another egg, so do not lose it.

Frequently asked questions
Can you craft a Dragon Egg?
No. The Dragon Egg cannot be crafted. It spawns only once per world, on the exit portal, after you defeat the Ender Dragon for the first time.
Why does the Dragon Egg teleport when I click it?
The egg has the same teleport behaviour as an Enderman. Mining or right-clicking it moves it up to 15 blocks to a random nearby block instead of dropping it.
How do you actually pick up the Dragon Egg?
Use the torch trick: place a torch below the egg, then break the block under the egg so it falls onto the torch and drops as a collectible item. A piston also works.
Does the Dragon Egg have any use?
No functional use. It is purely a decorative trophy that proves you have beaten the Ender Dragon, usually displayed on a pedestal in a base.
Can you get a second Dragon Egg?
No. Respawning the Ender Dragon with four End Crystals does not generate a new egg — only the very first kill ever creates one.
