How to use a Creeper Spawn Egg in Minecraft
-
1
Get the spawn egg
Open the Creative inventory and find the Creeper Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs tab, or run /give @s minecraft:creeper_spawn_egg in Survival.
-
2
Aim at a surface
Point your crosshair at the top or side of a solid block where you want the creeper to appear.
-
3
Spawn the creeper
Right-click (use item) on the block and a creeper spawns at that spot facing you.
-
4
Manage the mob
The creeper is hostile and approaches to explode, so build a wall or trap first if you are testing a farm.
Spawn eggs work only where the mob can be placed; in normal Survival without commands they are not obtainable. The spawned creeper is a normal creeper, not a charged one — only a lightning strike creates a charged creeper.
