Description

Copper Trapdoor crafts from 4 Copper Ingots arranged in a 2x2 block on the crafting grid, yielding one trapdoor, and mines only with a stone pickaxe or better — breaking it without a pickaxe drops nothing. Left unwaxed, Copper Trapdoor slowly oxidizes through four stages: the fresh orange block turns exposed (discolored with green spots), then weathered (green with brown spots), then fully oxidized (teal with green spots); a lightning bolt strips all of that oxidation back to the start. Honeycomb applied to Copper Trapdoor locks in its current color and stops the oxidation from advancing.

Copper Trapdoor opens and closes like any trapdoor, but a player can also crouch and right-click it with an axe to reverse one stage of oxidation — a plain right-click with an axe only toggles the trapdoor open or closed. Redstone power opens Copper Trapdoor immediately and closes it the moment the signal cuts, and a thrown wind charge flips its state the same way a lever would. Builders pick Copper Trapdoor over the iron version specifically for that weathering: a set of hatches can age naturally over time, or get waxed at different stages to mix fresh and patina copper tones in the same build.
