Description

Copper Shovel is a copper-tier digging tool crafted from one Copper Ingot and two Sticks on the standard 3x3 shovel grid, placing the ingot in the top-center slot and the sticks below it. The recipe yields one shovel and matches the grid shape used by every vanilla shovel family, so a player building a copper tool set gets the same familiar silhouette. Like any shovel, Copper Shovel breaks dirt, grass, sand, gravel, and other soft ground blocks faster than mining by hand, and right-clicking grass blocks, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, podzol, or mycelium converts the surface into dirt paths in both Java and Bedrock Editions. The tool does not stack, so each inventory slot holds exactly one Copper Shovel. Copper Shovel is renewable, because drowned drop copper ingots, so the tool can be recrafted even after every finite copper ore deposit in the world is mined out. Copper Shovel completes the copper tool kit alongside the Copper Pickaxe, Copper Axe, Copper Sword, Copper Hoe, and Copper Spear, all sharing the same ingot-plus-sticks construction.

Guide

How to craft a Copper Shovel in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Gather the materials

Copper Shovel needs one Copper Ingot, smelted from raw copper dropped by copper ore, and two Sticks crafted from planks.

  2. 2

    Open the crafting grid

Open a 3x3 crafting grid, because Copper Shovel cannot be shaped on the 2x2 inventory grid.

  3. 3

    Place the ingredients

Place the Copper Ingot in the top-center slot, then put one Stick in the middle-center slot and one Stick in the bottom-center slot to form the shovel shape.

  4. 4

    Collect and dig

Collect the Copper Shovel from the result slot, then dig dirt, sand, gravel, and grass to break soft blocks faster than by hand.

Tip

Copper Shovel is renewable because drowned drop copper ingots, but copper ore itself never regenerates, so a drowned farm is the most reliable long-term ingot source.
