Copper Door has a hardness of 3 and a blast resistance of 6, mining fastest with a pickaxe. As an item, Copper Door stacks to 64 despite standing two blocks tall once placed. Copper Door oxidizes through four visible stages, unoxidized, exposed, weathered, and oxidized, shifting from copper tone to a teal-green patina over time, and Honeycomb combined on a crafting grid with the unoxidized form yields the matching Waxed Copper Door that locks the current color in permanently.

Players, villagers, piglins, vindicators, and copper golems can all open and close Copper Door without needing redstone. A thrown Wind Charge also toggles Copper Door open or closed on impact. Copper Door still responds to redstone signals once wired into a circuit, making manual and automated door builds equally possible. On Hard difficulty, some zombies spawn with a 5% chance to break doors, and raid vindicators share that same ability. Both mobs can smash through a closed Copper Door to reach villagers or players, so a copper doorway offers no safe barrier during a raid. Copper Door also generates naturally between the rooms of trial chambers and creates a breathable air pocket when placed underwater or in lava.
