Description

Cobbled Deepslate is what falls from raw deepslate when mined without a Silk Touch pickaxe — the deep-cave analogue of cobblestone, with the same rough surface and slightly darker tone. It cannot be found generated naturally; it only exists as a tool drop, which makes most underground bases inevitably accumulate stockpiles of it during diamond runs.

A stone pickaxe is the minimum required tool, just like its source block. The recipe roster is a near mirror of cobblestone: cobbled deepslate slabs, stairs, and walls craft directly, and at a stonecutter the conversion is one-block-to-one for slabs (×2) and stairs. Smelting in a furnace returns a regular deepslate block, completing the loop. Cobbled Deepslate is also one of two ingredients for crafting deepslate bricks, the more refined building variant.
