Description

Cobbled Deepslate Slab is a half-height building block made from cobbled deepslate: three cobbled deepslate placed in a single crafting row yield six slabs. A stonecutter stretches the material further, turning one cobbled deepslate block into two Cobbled Deepslate Slabs. Cobbled Deepslate Slab carries hardness 3.5 and blast resistance 6, breaks with any pickaxe, and drops nothing when mined without a pickaxe. Cobbled Deepslate Slab also generates naturally as part of ancient cities (large underground structures), where the slab has appeared since Minecraft Java 1.19 and Bedrock 1.19.0.

Two Cobbled Deepslate Slabs placed one above the other on the crafting grid produce one Chiseled Deepslate, the carved variant of the deepslate family. Cobbled Deepslate Slab is a non-renewable resource (no endless farming method exists), stacks to 64, and supports waterlogging (water can occupy the same block space as the placed slab). The dark tone of cobbled deepslate carries over to Cobbled Deepslate Slab, suiting muted stone floors, walls, and stair landings.

Guide

How to craft and use Cobbled Deepslate Slab in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Gather cobbled deepslate

Mine deepslate with any pickaxe without the Silk Touch enchantment (the enchantment that makes stone drop as itself) to collect cobbled deepslate, or collect cobbled deepslate directly in an ancient city.

  2. 2

Craft six slabs from three blocks

Place three cobbled deepslate in a single row of the crafting grid to receive six Cobbled Deepslate Slabs.

  3. 3

Cut one block into two slabs

Put one cobbled deepslate into a stonecutter to turn one block into two Cobbled Deepslate Slabs.

  4. 4

Stack two slabs into Chiseled Deepslate

Place two Cobbled Deepslate Slabs one above the other on the crafting grid to craft one Chiseled Deepslate.

  5. 5

Break the slab with a pickaxe

Remove Cobbled Deepslate Slab with any pickaxe; breaking the slab without a pickaxe drops nothing.

Waterlogging works on Cobbled Deepslate Slab

Water can occupy the same block space as a placed Cobbled Deepslate Slab (waterlogging), which keeps water in pools, canals, and underwater floors while the stone surface stays visible.
