Nether Quartz is renewable via Piglin bartering since 1.16, which makes Chiseled Quartz Block a renewable resource as well. Hardness and blast resistance both sit at 0.8, a wooden pickaxe or better is required to harvest Chiseled Quartz Block, and mining the block by hand drops nothing.

Builders reach for Chiseled Quartz Block when a build calls for a temple, pillar, altar, or ornate floor accent, because the recessed carving reads as fine stonework at a distance. Pairing Chiseled Quartz Block with Smooth Quartz Block and plain Quartz Block lets a builder break up monotony on columns and arches, since each variant keeps the same white palette but shows a different face. One crafting operation converts two Quartz Slabs into one Chiseled Quartz Block in any vertical column of the grid.
