Cherry Boat is a rideable water vehicle (a transport item placed on water) crafted from five cherry planks, carrying two passengers across rivers and oceans.
Description
On water a Cherry Boat reaches a top speed of 8 blocks per second; on ice the speed rises to 40, and on blue ice to about 72.7 blocks per second. Riding a Cherry Boat drains no hunger and cancels fall damage completely for everyone aboard, which makes long cliff and mountain crossings safe. Weapons dealing more than 4 damage break a boat in a single hit, and a boat broken by attacks drops itself back as an item, so a misplaced Cherry Boat costs nothing to recover. One Cherry Boat also works as furnace fuel for 60 seconds and smelts up to 6 items. A Cherry Boat combined with a chest on the crafting grid becomes a boat with a chest that hauls cargo in the second passenger's seat.

Collect cherry logs in a cherry grove
Cherry groves generate on mountain slopes and plateaus, marked by pink-leafed trees. Break the cherry tree trunks to gather cherry logs.

Craft cherry planks from the logs
Place one cherry log on the crafting grid to get 4 cherry planks. Two logs yield 8 planks — enough for one boat with three planks left over.

Arrange 5 planks in the boat shape
On the crafting table, put cherry planks in the left and right cells of the middle row and fill all three cells of the bottom row, leaving the top row empty. The grid yields 1 Cherry Boat.

Launch the boat and climb in
Use the Cherry Boat item on water to place the boat, then use the boat again to board. Steer with the forward and turning keys, and press sneak or jump to exit.

Add a chest for cargo
Combine a chest with the Cherry Boat on the crafting grid to craft a boat with a chest. The chest takes the second passenger's seat, so the boat then carries a single rider.
A Cherry Boat moves at 8 blocks per second on water but 40 on ice and about 72.7 on blue ice. Blue ice roads turn a Cherry Boat into long-range transport.
