Description
Bricks are produced through a two-step process: smelt clay balls in a furnace one at a time to obtain brick items (the small pottery objects), then arrange four of those brick items in a 2×2 grid to produce one full brick block. Clay balls themselves come from breaking clay clusters — naturally generated patches found at the bottom of shallow water in swamps, beach edges, and the floors of small ponds — with each clay block dropping four balls.
The finished material is the warm terracotta red familiar from real-world construction. Texture is the classic offset interlocking pattern, identical in shape to stone bricks but in red instead of grey. The block predates almost every other building material in the game: it appeared in the very early Alpha versions and remains the default red masonry option even after more than a decade of additions. Stair, slab, and wall variants exist for full architectural use. The block has zero blast resistance bonus over the average — it is purely an aesthetic option, not a defensive one.
