Standing alone, Black Stained Glass Pane forms a thin 2×2-pixel post and connects to neighboring blocks into flat, corner, T, and cross shapes; horizontal dark surfaces still require Black Stained Glass blocks. Water can occupy the same space as Black Stained Glass Pane, and a Beacon beam changes color when shining through Black Stained Glass Pane. Villages generate only white, yellow, orange, red, and brown stained glass panes, so players craft the black variant themselves.
