Description

Bamboo Raft with Chest is a bamboo raft with a chest occupying the passenger seat, added in Java Edition 1.20 and Bedrock Edition 1.20.0. One bamboo raft plus one chest on the crafting grid yields one Bamboo Raft with Chest, and attacking the raft returns the Bamboo Raft with Chest as an item drop together with the cargo inside. A single hit dealing more than 4 damage destroys the raft instantly. The storage holds as many slots as a single chest and opens when the player uses the raft while sneaking or opens the inventory screen while riding the raft.

Bamboo Raft with Chest moves one entity at a time, because the chest takes the seat where a second passenger would ride in a regular boat. Hoppers fill or drain the storage whenever the raft floats above, below, or beside a hopper, and the hitbox size lets the raft sit across up to nine hoppers to split cargo evenly nine ways. As furnace fuel, Bamboo Raft with Chest burns for 60 seconds and smelts up to 6 items. Opening or breaking the raft makes nearby piglins attack, as with any other container. Bamboo Raft with Chest works as mobile storage on water routes: park a loaded raft over a hopper and let the hopper unload the cargo.
