Acacia Sign
Acacia Sign is a wooden sign block that displays up to four lines of text per side for labelling storage and marking areas of interest.
Description
A placed Acacia Sign reopens the text editor on use, and the back side carries a separate second message. A honeycomb waxes the Acacia Sign so no player can edit the text afterwards. Acacia Sign has no collision, so items and mobs move through the sign block freely. Acacia Sign joined Java Edition in 1.14 and Bedrock Edition in 1.9.0.

Fill the top two rows of a crafting grid with 6 acacia planks and place 1 stick in the bottom-middle cell. One craft produces 3 Acacia Signs.

Place the Acacia Sign
Use the Acacia Sign item on the top or the side of a block. A sign on top stands on a short post in any of 16 directions, and a sign on a wall floats on the side.

Attach signs to chests
Sneak while placing the Acacia Sign to put the sign on a chest, a note block, or another block that reacts to use.

Write both sides
Type up to four lines of text and confirm the editor. Use the placed Acacia Sign again to reopen the editor, and interact with the back side for a second message.

Decorate and lock the text
Use a dye on the Acacia Sign to recolour the letters, a glow ink sac to make the text glow, and a honeycomb to wax the sign so nobody edits the message.
A spare Acacia Sign smelts exactly one item in a furnace, so broken signs still serve a survival base.
