Description

Waxed Oxidized Copper is made by using a Honeycomb on Oxidized Copper, coating the surface so no further weathering stage can begin. Oxidized Copper is the final, teal-and-green stage that a Block of Copper reaches after passing through Exposed Copper and Weathered Copper, and the wax coating locks that appearance in place for good. Breaking Waxed Oxidized Copper needs a Stone Pickaxe or better; a lower-tier pickaxe yields nothing. Copper counts as renewable in Minecraft because drowned mobs drop copper ingots, so a fresh supply of Oxidized Copper for waxing is never truly gone. Waxed Oxidized Copper also spawns naturally inside trial chambers next to its unwaxed and less-oxidized relatives.

Scraping Waxed Oxidized Copper with an axe strips the wax and reverts the surface to plain Oxidized Copper rather than reversing the color stage, since waxing only pauses weathering. A stonecutter turns Waxed Oxidized Copper into matching cut copper, slabs, stairs, chiseled copper, and copper grates without spending extra ingots on a crafting grid. Waxed Oxidized Copper cannot be crafted back into copper ingots, since oxidation has already run its course, so waxing makes sense once the aged, teal look is exactly what a build calls for.
