Waxed Exposed Cut Copper comes from two crafting paths: applying a Honeycomb to an Exposed Cut Copper block, or arranging four Waxed Exposed Copper in a 2x2 pattern on a crafting table, not a full 3x3 grid. The same conversion works on a Stonecutter, where one Waxed Exposed Copper turns into four Waxed Exposed Cut Copper. Waxed Exposed Cut Copper needs a Stone Pickaxe or better to mine and drops nothing without one. Because the Honeycomb coating blocks oxidation entirely, Waxed Exposed Cut Copper keeps its current greenish patina forever and never advances to the Weathered or Oxidized stage.

Waxed Exposed Cut Copper can be cut into matching Slabs and Stairs on a Stonecutter, and into Waxed Exposed Chiseled Copper the same way. Scraping the coating off with an Axe turns Waxed Exposed Cut Copper back into unwaxed Exposed Cut Copper, which resumes oxidizing toward the Weathered and Oxidized stages over time, so waxing again later would lock in whichever color it has reached by then. Builders who want the muted green tone of early copper weathering without the block darkening further should apply Honeycomb at exactly this stage; Waxed Exposed Cut Copper also stacks to 64, is not flammable, and is unaffected by lava, so it works as safe roofing or trim near heat sources.
