Description

Warped Fungus is a small Nether plant added in Minecraft 1.16 that solves two problems at once: it grows giant Warped Trees and it controls Striders. Warped Fungus generates naturally on Warped Nylium inside the Warped Forest biome, where the cyan canopy makes it easy to spot. Players who place Warped Fungus on Warped Nylium and apply Bone Meal trigger a huge Warped Tree with Warped Stems, Shroomlights and Warped Wart Blocks, which is the cheapest renewable source of Nether wood. Warped Fungus also repels Hoglins within roughly 8 blocks, so carrying a stack turns dangerous Bastion Remnants into a much safer trip. The most unique role of Warped Fungus is crafting a Warped Fungus on a Stick, the only item that lets a player steer a saddled Strider across lava lakes, with 100 durability per stick. Warped Fungus has no food value, is not flammable and breaks instantly by hand, and a Composter accepts it with a 65% chance to raise the compost level.

    Place Warped Fungus on Warped Nylium with at least a 5x5x12 free space, then right-click with Bone Meal to grow a full Warped Tree.

    Hold or place Warped Fungus to push Hoglins about 8 blocks away, which keeps treasure rooms safer during Bastion looting.
