Description

Vex Armor Trim Smithing Template is found in the chests of woodland mansions, which are among the rarest structures in the overworld. Woodland mansions appear only in dark forest biomes and are enormous multi-room buildings filled with various types of illagers: vindicators, evokers, and the small translucent hostile mobs called vexes that evokers summon in battle. The template takes its name and design from the vex itself — its jagged, erratic, semi-transparent appearance. At a smithing table it combines with any armor piece and one trim material — iron, copper, redstone, lapis lazuli, gold, quartz, emerald, diamond, netherite, or amethyst — altering only the visual layer while preserving every functional property. The vex pattern suits mystical, ghostly, or dark forest equipment themes. Amethyst and netherite accent materials work particularly well with this design. Because mansions are rare and their interiors are dangerous, obtaining even one copy is a significant exploration achievement.

  1. 1

    Find a woodland mansion

Explore dark forest biomes to locate a woodland mansion and loot its chests; the Vex Armor Trim Smithing Template appears only there.

Place a smithing table and right-click it to open the three-slot smithing interface used for armor trims.
