Description

Stripped Crimson Hyphae is a Nether building block with smooth maroon bark on all six faces, made by stripping Crimson Hyphae with an axe. It arrived with the Nether Update in Minecraft Java 1.16 and Bedrock 1.16.0 and belongs to the crimson fungus family from the Crimson Forest. Because crimson is a giant fungus and not real wood, Stripped Crimson Hyphae is completely fireproof — it never burns next to lava or fire, which makes it ideal for Nether bases and decorative pillars. You craft the block by placing 4 Stripped Crimson Stems in a 2x2 grid to get 3 Stripped Crimson Hyphae, or strip a Crimson Hyphae block directly with any axe. An axe breaks it fastest, but it also drops when mined by hand. Use it to craft Crimson Planks, build columns with matching bark on every side, or add a deep-red accent to overworld and End builds. Unlike oak logs, it cannot be smelted into charcoal.

How to get Stripped Crimson Hyphae in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Find Crimson Hyphae

Travel to a Crimson Forest in the Nether, gather Crimson Stems, then craft 4 stems in a 2x2 grid to make Crimson Hyphae with bark on every side.

  2. 2

    Strip it with an axe

Hold any axe and use it on the Crimson Hyphae block; the bark is shaved off, revealing the smooth maroon Stripped Crimson Hyphae texture.

  3. 3

    Or craft the stripped block

Place 4 Stripped Crimson Stems in a 2x2 crafting grid to produce 3 Stripped Crimson Hyphae directly, skipping the axe step.

  4. 4

    Build with it

Place the block freely or craft it into Crimson Planks; it stays fireproof, so it is safe right next to lava in Nether builds.

Fireproof, not wood

Crimson is a fungus, so Stripped Crimson Hyphae never catches fire and cannot be smelted into charcoal in a furnace, unlike overworld logs.
