Spyglass
Spyglass zooms the view with one amethyst shard and two copper ingots.
Description
It is useful for scouting villages, ocean monuments, bastions, end cities, raid waves, and mountain routes before committing to travel. Builders also use it for inspecting large structures from the ground. The recipe ties together two 1.17 resources: copper from ore veins and amethyst from geodes, giving both materials a practical exploration role.

How to use a Spyglass in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the spyglass
Place one amethyst shard in the top center of the crafting grid with two copper ingots in a vertical line directly below it to make one spyglass.
-
2
Hold it in your hand
Move the spyglass to your hotbar or off-hand slot and select it so it is the active item.
-
3
Zoom in
Hold the use button (right-click on Java, long-press on Bedrock) to look through it; the view magnifies and a round frame appears.
-
4
Scan, then move
Slowly turn to scan distant terrain, mobs, or structures. Your walking speed drops while zoomed, so release the button to move normally.
The spyglass was added in 1.17 to both Java and Bedrock. It has no durability, never breaks, and stacks to 1.

Does a spyglass have durability?
No. The spyglass never wears out and can be used an unlimited number of times.
Does the spyglass work in Java and Bedrock?
