Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg — Minecraft block

Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg is a Creative-mode item that spawns a Skeleton Horse (minecraft:skeleton_horse), the undead variant of the ordinary horse, in both Java and Bedrock Edition. Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg cannot be crafted or found in survival loot chests — players obtain Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg only from the Creative inventory or the /give command. The egg shows a pale grey base with white spots that echoes the bony texture of the mob it releases. Skeleton horses were added in Java Edition 1.6.1 and the lightning-summoned trap horse in Java 1.9, while the spawn egg itself has been available in Java only since 1.11.

Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg is the fastest way to get a skeleton horse without waiting for a storm: use the egg on solid ground and the undead mount appears at once. The editions differ sharply — in Bedrock Edition a spawned skeleton horse is always tamed and can be ridden straight away, while in Java Edition a horse spawned from the egg cannot be tamed or ridden at all; only thunderstorm trap horses come rideable, and only in Java can they take a saddle. As an undead mob, a skeleton horse never drowns and breathes underwater, so a tamed skeleton horse is handy for ocean-crossing roads or aquatic racing tracks. Skeleton horses are healed by the Potion of Harming and damaged by the Potion of Healing, cannot wear horse armor, and move at a fixed speed of 0.2 — twice the player's walking speed. Use Skeleton Horse Spawn Egg to stock a haunted stable, set up a Halloween build, or test undead mount mechanics on a survival-style map.
