Description
Raw Iron Block compresses nine pieces of raw iron into one solid block on the crafting grid, with a lossless reverse recipe to convert it back. This is the storage block of choice for any player running a Fortune III pickaxe through deepslate iron ore veins, since the typical haul of two to four raw drops per ore quickly fills inventories. Smelting nine raw iron individually is identical in output to placing them in the block form first — the compression is purely organisational.
The block's appearance is closer to grey than copper or gold: dull metallic flecks set into a slightly browner matrix, suggesting unrefined ferrous chunks rather than polished metal. Builders use it occasionally as decorative cladding for industrial themes, often paired with raw copper block for warm-cool contrast or with cracked deepslate for an underground warehouse aesthetic. The block has no function beyond storage and decoration; it cannot be smelted directly, so any planned use of the iron must wait until it is decompressed back into raw form first.
