Purple Candle
Purple Candle is a dyed light-source block for Minecraft interiors: the candle stacks up to four per block space and lights with flint and steel.
Description
Purple Candle stays dark until ignition with flint and steel, a fire charge, or a flaming projectile, and lighting pays off: one lit candle gives light level 3, four reach the maximum of 12. Waterlogging is allowed, but a waterlogged candle refuses to light, and water or a simple interaction puts a flame out again. Any tool or an empty hand breaks Purple Candle (hardness 0.1, blast resistance 0.1), and candles neither burn nor catch fire from lava. Beyond crafting, Purple Candle appears as common loot in suspicious gravel since Java 1.20 and in generated chests, and librarian villagers sell only red and yellow candles. A single Purple Candle can even stand on an uneaten cake as a candle cake.

No. Dyed candles keep their color forever, and Minecraft offers no recipe that turns a Purple Candle back into a plain Candle or another color.
