Description

Polished Deepslate Slab is a decorative half-height variant of polished deepslate, the stone-like polished form of deepslate. Ancient cities, the palatial structures of deep dark biomes at Y=-51, have generated Polished Deepslate Slab naturally since Java 1.19 and Bedrock 1.19.0. Any pickaxe mines Polished Deepslate Slab, a wooden pickaxe is enough, and mining without a pickaxe drops nothing. Polished Deepslate Slab measures hardness 3.5 and blast resistance 6 (how well the block withstands creeper and TNT explosions), emits no light, and is not flammable.

Three polished deepslate blocks in a single crafting row give six Polished Deepslate Slabs, and a stonecutter turns one polished deepslate, cobbled deepslate, or deepslate block into two slabs. Four cobbled deepslate arranged in a 2×2 grid craft four polished deepslate, the parent block every slab recipe needs. Polished Deepslate Slab stacks to 64 per slot, and two slabs in one block space combine into a double slab of full height. For half-height floors, stair landings, and decorative bands, Polished Deepslate Slab brings the decorative stone-like look of polished deepslate to deepslate builds.

How to craft Polished Deepslate Slabs in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft polished deepslate first

Place four cobbled deepslate blocks in a 2×2 crafting grid to produce four polished deepslate blocks, or feed cobbled deepslate to a stonecutter for one polished deepslate per block.

  2. 2

Lay three blocks in a row

Place three polished deepslate blocks in a single row on the crafting table; the recipe yields six Polished Deepslate Slabs.

  3. 3

    Stonecut blocks one by one

Put one polished deepslate, cobbled deepslate, or deepslate block into a stonecutter; every block returns two Polished Deepslate Slabs.

  4. 4

    Raid an ancient city

Travel to a deep dark biome at Y=-51, find an ancient city, and mine naturally generated Polished Deepslate Slabs with any pickaxe.

Blast resistance history

Bedrock Edition raised the blast resistance of Polished Deepslate Slab from 3.6 to 6 in version 1.20.30.
