Frequently asked questions
Can you craft Polished Blackstone?
Yes. Place four Blackstone in a 2×2 crafting grid to make four Polished Blackstone, or cut it from Blackstone in a Stonecutter.
Where does Polished Blackstone generate?
It generates naturally in Bastion Remnants in the Nether, often next to gilded blackstone, gold blocks, and chains.
What can you make from Polished Blackstone?
It crafts into Polished Blackstone Bricks, Slabs, Stairs, Walls, Buttons, Pressure Plates, and Chiseled Polished Blackstone.
What tool breaks Polished Blackstone fastest?
Any pickaxe works, and a Diamond or Netherite pickaxe is fastest. Mining it without a pickaxe drops nothing.
Does Polished Blackstone work in Java and Bedrock?
Yes. It exists in both editions since the 1.16 Nether Update and uses the same 2×2 recipe.
