How to craft and use a Pale Oak Fence Gate in Minecraft
-
1
Get pale oak planks
Chop a pale oak tree in the Pale Garden, turn the logs into pale oak planks, and craft four sticks.
-
2
Craft the gate
Place a stick on each side of two pale oak planks in the middle and bottom rows to make one fence gate.
-
3
Fit it into a fence
Place the gate inline with your fences so it connects on both sides and closes off the gap as a doorway.
-
4
Open and close it
Right-click the gate to open or close it by hand whenever you walk through your pen or wall.
-
5
Wire it to redstone
Power the gate with a lever, button, or pressure plate so it opens automatically on a redstone signal.
Unlike wooden doors, fence gates cannot be opened by mobs, so animals stay penned even when zombies are nearby.
