Oak Door is the basic two-block-tall wooden entryway — opens with a click, but zombies can break it on hard difficulty.
Description
On Hard difficulty, zombies that spawn with the door-breaking ability (up to 10% of them) smash an Oak Door in roughly ten seconds, and raid vindicators break wooden doors on Normal and Hard — but only to reach a target. This is the trade-off versus iron doors: wood is cheap and player-openable, but not zombie-proof. In Java Edition Oak Doors are not flammable — fire does not spread to them, and lava does not ignite them (in Bedrock Edition lava does). Villagers open and close Oak Doors and treat them as valid building boundaries for pathfinding. Every wood family has its own door variant in matching colour.

Craft the door
Open a crafting table and fill the left two columns with six Oak Planks (three per column). This yields three Oak Doors per craft — one of the most material-efficient recipes in the game.

Place and open the door
Right-click a floor block to place the Oak Door. Right-click the placed door to open or close it. Either the top or bottom half responds to interaction, so you never need to aim precisely.

Create a double door
Place two Oak Doors side by side. The game mirrors their hinges automatically so the pair looks like one symmetrical double door, but each door still opens on its own — opening one never opens the other.

Automate with redstone
Connect a button, lever, or pressure plate next to the Oak Door. Any redstone signal opens or closes it instantly; for a double entrance, run the signal to both doors or put a pressure plate in front of each.

Harden against zombies
On Hard difficulty, zombies with the door-breaking ability break an Oak Door in roughly ten seconds. Replace Oak Doors with Iron Doors on exposed entrances, or reinforce wooden doors with a surrounding wall that mobs cannot path around.
Raid vindicators break Oak Doors on Normal and Hard — in Java Edition some just open them. Use Iron Doors or a covered approach during raids.
