Description

Mangrove Pressure Plate is a wooden redstone trigger that outputs the maximum signal strength of 15 while an entity stands on top. Players, mobs, dropped items, arrows, and experience orbs all press Mangrove Pressure Plate down, but players in spectator mode and marker entities never do. Mangrove Pressure Plate came with Minecraft 1.19, and the mangrove trees of the same update made pressure plates from mangrove wood renewable (farmable endlessly).

Two Mangrove Planks placed side by side in a Crafting Table (the 3x3 crafting grid) make one Mangrove Pressure Plate. After activation, Mangrove Pressure Plate checks every 20 game ticks (1 tick is 1/20 of a second) whether anything still stands on top and releases once the space is empty. Water and lava cannot break pressure plates, so builders use them to contain fluids, and in Bedrock Edition Mangrove Pressure Plate can also be waterlogged. A Furnace smelts 1.5 items per Mangrove Pressure Plate burned as fuel.

    Two Mangrove Planks placed side by side in a Crafting Table give one Mangrove Pressure Plate.

    Place it on top of a block

    Aim at the top face of a solid block and press the use button, because Mangrove Pressure Plate cannot attach to the side or underside of a block and leaves do not support it.

    Wire the output

    Mangrove Pressure Plate gives weak power to direct neighbors such as Redstone Dust and strong power to the block beneath, so the wiring belongs beside or below.

    Step on it

    A player who walks onto Mangrove Pressure Plate hears a click and triggers a signal of 15, and the signal ends at the next check after the last entity leaves.

Detect without blocking

Mangrove Pressure Plate on top of a fence, such as an Oak Fence, lets entities pass through while still triggering the signal.
