Description

Mangrove Button is a wooden button that gives off a short redstone pulse when pressed. After a press by hand, Mangrove Button stays active for 1.5 seconds and then switches itself off. Mangrove Button is crafted from one Mangrove Planks block, stacks to 64, and was added to Java Edition and Bedrock Edition in version 1.19.

While Mangrove Button is active, it powers adjacent redstone dust to power level 15 and strongly powers its attachment block to the same level. Adjacent pistons and redstone lamps switch on as well. A wooden button can be pressed by more than a player: arrows, thrown tridents and wind charges also activate Mangrove Button, and an arrow or trident keeps Mangrove Button pressed until the projectile despawns after 1 minute or a player picks it up. Mobs cannot press buttons directly, but arrows fired by skeletons or dispensers can activate wooden buttons.

Guide

How to use a Mangrove Button in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft the button

Put 1 Mangrove Planks in the crafting grid to craft 1 Mangrove Button.

  2. 2

    Choose an attachment block

Mangrove Button attaches to the side, top or bottom of any full opaque block, so choose a solid block next to the redstone you want to power.

  3. 3

    Place the button

Use Mangrove Button on the chosen face of the block to place it.

  4. 4

    Press the button

Use Mangrove Button with your hand to activate it, and redstone dust beside it receives power level 15 for 1.5 seconds.

  5. 5

    Connect the circuit

Adjacent pistons and redstone lamps switch on directly, while redstone dust carries the pulse further through the circuit.

Keep the attachment block in place

Mangrove Button drops as an item when its attachment block is moved or destroyed, when a piston pushes the button, or, in Java Edition, when water or lava flows into the button's space.
