Gray Bed
Gray Bed skips the night, clears thunderstorms, and sets the respawn point (where you reappear after dying) for a survival base.
Description
Gray Bed doubles as a landing pad: falling onto Gray Bed bounces a living entity with 75% of the impact velocity and cuts the counted fall distance to 50%, leaving slightly under half of the normal fall damage. In the Nether or the End, an attempt to sleep detonates Gray Bed with explosion power 5 — stronger than TNT at 4. The explosion sets no respawn point. Every Gray Bed placed near a zombie villager adds a chance to speed up curing the zombie villager. Gray Bed needs two blocks of floor space, and no tool accelerates breaking Gray Bed.

Choose a spot with two free blocks of floor space: the foot of Gray Bed lands on the selected block, and the head takes the block beyond.

Use Gray Bed at night while stars are visible, or at any moment of a thunderstorm, and wait for the jump to sunrise and clear weather.

Watch the chat for the confirmation of the new respawn point after entering Gray Bed; a daytime click on Gray Bed anchors the same respawn point without sleeping.
Sleep fails with the message 'You may not rest now, there are monsters nearby' while any monster stands within 8 blocks horizontally and 5 blocks vertically of the bed head.

Shepherd villagers sell beds, and any bed bought from a shepherd becomes a Gray Bed with Gray Dye in the shapeless recipe.
Does Gray Bed stack in the inventory?
Gray Bed never stacks: one inventory slot holds exactly one bed, so moving beds for a village project costs one slot per bed.
What happens when a piston pushes Gray Bed?
A pushing piston destroys Gray Bed, and sticky pistons cannot pull Gray Bed back. Redstone doors and machines need a bed-free layout.
Can Gray Bed sit inside water?
Bedrock Edition allows beds to be waterlogged, keeping water inside the block space; Java Edition beds cannot be waterlogged.
Can several players respawn at one Gray Bed?
