How to use a Golden Spear in Minecraft
-
1
Craft the spear
Place 1 gold ingot and 2 sticks in the crafting grid to make 1 Golden Spear.
-
2
Jab up close
Press attack for a quick jab dealing 1 damage in Java or 2 in Bedrock, then wait out the roughly 0.95-second cooldown.
-
3
Charge a thrust
Hold the use key and run at a target; the damage scales with your speed and knocks riders off their mounts.
-
4
Mind the range
Attack targets between 2 and 4.5 blocks away, because the Golden Spear cannot hit anything closer than 2 blocks.
-
5
Enchant with Lunge
Apply Lunge I to III at an enchanting table to boost forward momentum during a charged thrust.
The Golden Spear has only 32 durability, the lowest of all spears, so save it for enchanted, high-value strikes rather than constant combat.
