Description

Golden Spear is a gold-tier spear added to Minecraft in the Mounts of Mayhem update (Java Edition 1.21.11, Bedrock Edition 1.21.130). Craft it from 1 gold ingot and 2 sticks, which makes it a renewable weapon. Unlike a sword, the Golden Spear has two attacks: a ground jab that deals 1 damage in Java and 2 in Bedrock, and a charged thrust performed by holding the use key, whose damage scales with your movement speed and knocks riders off their mounts. Its reach spans 2 to 4.5 blocks, but it cannot hit targets closer than 2 blocks. The Golden Spear has the lowest durability of any spear at 32 uses, yet the highest enchantability at 22, so strong enchantments like Lunge III stay cheap to apply. Piglins are drawn to dropped golden spears and may carry one, dropping it on death with an 8.5% chance, up to 11.5% with Looting III.

Important

The Golden Spear has only 32 durability, the lowest of all spears, so save it for enchanted, high-value strikes rather than constant combat.
