Description
An iron pickaxe or better is required to mine it. Mining drops raw gold, which is smelted into gold ingots. Gold is the second-rarest base metal but is mechanically softer than iron — gold tools have higher enchantability but lower durability. Gold is required for clocks, golden apples, powered rails, glistering melon, light-weighted pressure plates, and Piglin-friendly bartering. Pure gold blocks are also used in beacon pyramids and decorative builds.
