Description
Crafted from nine pieces of dried kelp in a 3×3 grid and reversible back to the same nine items, the block functions primarily as a storage form for the food yield of underwater farms. Its colour matches mossy and overgrown builds and works as a quiet green panel in coastal or jungle interiors.
The most useful property is fuel value: the block burns in a furnace, blast furnace or smoker for 200 seconds, smelting up to twenty items per block. That number outpaces coal on a per-block basis and turns kelp into a renewable, low-cost fuel pipeline once a small farm with bone meal automation is running. Hoppers feed a furnace stack from a bulk storage of these blocks without any rebatching.
Mechanically the block is solid, full-cube and breaks fastest with a hoe, although any tool works. It does not catch fire, ignites in lava only when directly exposed and floats on water if a column of these blocks would otherwise hover, so plain underwater pillars are still possible without breakage from currents.
