Description

Deepslate Redstone Ore generates between y=−64 and y=15, with the highest density around y=−59. Below the regular stone redstone band, this variant is now the most common source of redstone dust in the Overworld. The block retains the iconic property of its predecessor: it lights up and emits red particles when a player or mob walks across it, briefly making the cave wall a temporary light source — useful as a lazy night-light in extended mining tunnels.

An iron pickaxe is the minimum required tool. Mining yields four to five redstone dust per block, with bonus rolls under Fortune. Dust is the lifeblood of every circuit in the game: it conducts power, transmits signals, and combines into repeaters, comparators, observers, dispensers, droppers, pistons, and clocks. Silk Touch returns the ore intact, useful for collectors who want the glowing block as a decorative element.

How to find and mine Deepslate Redstone Ore in Minecraft

    Deepslate Redstone Ore has a dark grey deepslate texture with red flecks. When you walk over it or a mob steps on it, the block briefly emits red particles and produces a faint glow — useful as a passive indicator in dim tunnels.

    Breaking Deepslate Redstone Ore without enchantments drops 4–5 redstone dust. Each level of Fortune increases the maximum yield: Fortune III can drop up to 8 dust per block, making enchanted pickaxes far more efficient for large-scale farming.
