Blue Candle
Blue Candle is a dyed candle made from Candle plus Blue Dye; four candles fit one block space and reach light level 12 (max 15).
Description
A placed Blue Candle starts dark and ignites with Flint and Steel, a Fire Charge, or any flaming projectile; a single flame gives light level 3, every extra candle adds 3, and four candles in one block space reach 12. Water, a Wind Charge, or a simple interaction extinguish the flame, a waterlogged candle refuses to light, and candles added to an already-lit candle arrive lit. A single Blue Candle can also top an uneaten Cake, turning the Cake into a candle cake, and dyed candles cannot be recolored, so plan the palette before dyeing. Lit candles emit fire particles, making Blue Candle a natural pick for shrines, dining halls, and quiet altars.

Place one String directly above one Honeycomb on the crafting grid; the recipe yields one plain Candle.

Combine one plain Candle with one Blue Dye anywhere on the crafting grid to craft one Blue Candle.

Set Blue Candle on a solid block (candles do not sit on chests or cobwebs); up to four candles of the same color can share a single block space.

Frequently asked questions
Can different candle colors share one block space?
No. Up to four candles fit in a single block space, but all four must be the same color, so Blue Candle never merges with a Red or White Candle.
Can a sword light a Blue Candle?
On Bedrock Edition, yes: a burning mob or player, or any sword enchanted with Fire Aspect, lights candles. Flint and Steel, Fire Charges, and flaming projectiles work in both editions.
Do villagers sell Blue Candles?
No. Villager trading offers only Red Candles and Yellow Candles, so every Blue Candle comes from the player's own crafting with Blue Dye.
What happens when a candle cake is eaten?
The candle is dropped as an item, and destroying the candle cake returns the candle the same way. Any single candle, including Blue Candle, can stand on an uneaten Cake.
