Description

Blue Bundle is a dyed bundle, an item that stores up to a stack's worth of mixed item types inside one inventory slot. Space is shared by stack size: an item that stacks to 64 takes 1/64 of the bundle, an item that stacks to 16 (an Egg or an Ender Pearl) takes 1/16, and a non-stackable item such as an Iron Sword takes the whole Blue Bundle. Blue Bundle itself does not stack, so one inventory slot holds exactly one.

Blue Bundle comes from crafting any bundle together with Blue Dye, a shapeless recipe (the ingredients can sit in any slots of the grid). The undyed bundle is crafted from 1 String and 1 Leather. Mojang gave bundles 16 fixed dye colors instead of free color mixing so that players can recognise a bundle by its color at a glance, and Blue Bundle is the blue one of that set. Dyed bundles have been available in Java Edition since 1.21.2.

Guide

How to make and use a Blue Bundle in Minecraft

  1. 1

    Craft a plain bundle

A plain bundle is crafted from 1 String and 1 Leather placed as a vertical pair in the crafting grid.

  2. 2

    Dye the bundle

The plain bundle and Blue Dye go into the crafting grid together, and the shapeless recipe returns one Blue Bundle.

  3. 3

    Fill the Blue Bundle

In an inventory screen, the player picks up items and left-clicks the Blue Bundle, or picks up the Blue Bundle and left-clicks the items to store.

  4. 4

    Take items out

A right-click on the Blue Bundle with an empty cursor moves the most recently added item to the cursor, and the mouse wheel selects a different item first.

  5. 5

    Throw the contents out

Using the Blue Bundle from the hotbar throws out the contents of the most recently added slot in the direction the player faces.

Read the fullness bar

Hovering over the Blue Bundle shows a blue fullness bar that turns red when no space is left.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Blue Bundle go inside another bundle or a Shulker Box?

A Blue Bundle fits inside another bundle and takes 1/16 of the outer bundle plus the space of its own contents. A Shulker Box cannot be placed in a bundle, but a bundle can be placed in a Shulker Box.

Can a Blue Bundle be dyed blue again?

In Java Edition, a bundle cannot be dyed a color it already has, so a Blue Bundle needs a different dye to change color.

What happens to the contents when a Blue Bundle is destroyed?

A Blue Bundle item thrown into fire or onto a Cactus is destroyed, and every stored item drops on the ground, just as with a Shulker Box.

How many Ender Pearls fit in a Blue Bundle?

A Blue Bundle holds 16 Ender Pearls, because each Ender Pearl takes 1/16 of the space. Sticks stack to 64, so a Blue Bundle holds up to 64 Sticks, or 32 Sticks and 8 Ender Pearls together.
