Birch Shelf is a decorative block that stores and displays up to three item stacks (piles of one item, up to 64 each).
Description
Using a slot of an unpowered Birch Shelf swaps that slot's contents with the item in the player's main hand. A redstone signal merges the three slots of Birch Shelf, so one use swaps all three items with the three rightmost hotbar slots, and two or three adjacent powered shelves extend the swap to six or nine hotbar slots. A redstone comparator reads Birch Shelf as signal strength 1 for the left slot, 2 for the middle slot and 4 for the right slot, up to 7 when all three hold items. Hoppers and droppers fill Birch Shelf automatically, and a hopper placed underneath also removes items.
